Description
The GH-45 is similar in construction to the Electric Calorimeter (GH-46), but is of the simple form and does not include a heating element or an insulated handle.
It can be used to study and measure the specific heat of various specimen materials as well as the latent heat of vaporization and the latent heat of fusion of water.
The instructions include complete directions and formulas for the necessary calculations in each of the different procedures. There are also some useful comments about the errors that must be reconciled when using this type of calorimeter.
The top is a heavy-duty molded black phenolic with a center hole for a stopper and thermometer (not included). The inner can is supported on a thick fiber insulating ring to minimize heat loss except through the air between the two cans.
Inner container volume: 300 ml
Outer container volume: 900 ml
