Description
Ampere’s Rule states that if a conductor is grasped with the fingers of the left hand with the thumb pointing in the direction of the current flow, the curled fingers will then point in the direction of the magnetic field. Years ago, when current was conventionally considered to flow from plus to minus, this was known as “the Right Hand Rule”.
The magnetic fields created by an electrical current may be studied by placing a compass (not included) beneath the conducting wire or on the table that is around the vertical wire.
By moving the compass to various positions around the vertical wire, the circular nature of the magnetic flux will be clearly evident. Construction is of clear acrylic and heavy aluminum rod.
